Patient Safety & PSIRF Courses
A Systems Approach to Learning for those Leading Patient Safety Responses

An immersive 2-day workshop intended for those leading learning responses (NHSE lot 4a). Using a mix of healthcare and non-healthcare examples to reinforce the learning goals, we cover an introduction to systems thinking and human factors, investigation methodology including SEIPs and observations to establish work-as-done, analysis techniques, writing reports with evidence based findings and making sustainable, systems based recommendations. The jewel in the crown is the module covering the theory of investigative interviews and a morning given over to the opportunity to practice the skills in a scenario based simulation with feedback and advice from people who have practical experience of the techniques!
